Australian Logistics Council (ALC)The National Umbrella Body for T&L Freight in Australia"Providing leadership within the freight logistics industry by encouraging industry collaboration on issues of national interest"Who are we? The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) is a national umbrella body representing all players in Australian transport and logistics industry, providing a partnership as well as an intermodal and unified voice on issues critical to the whole of Australia's Freight Supply Chain. The ALC's objective is to ensure the Freight Supply Chain in Australia, for both the domestic and export markets, is as effective and efficient as practical by advocating reform and investment while maximising the use of our existing supply chain structures. - We provide leadership within the freight logistics industry by encouraging industry collaboration on issues of mutual interest;
- We advise all governments on logistics issues on behalf of the freight logistics industry;
- We work to improve the image and profile of the freight logistics industry and to encourage greater acceptance by governments and the community of the important role the industry plays in our economy.
Work Priorities 2008 The ALC 2008 Position Statements establishes the policy position of ALC on key strategic issues and outline the work agenda for 2008. They also include proposals for specific, measurable actions that, once endorsed by ALC, will be the basis for detailed resource planning and allocation. These proposals have been developed by the various Steering and Working Groups of ALC and have been circulated for comment. |
