REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN for the 2016 ALC Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit

REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN
The 2016 ALC Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit will be held on 17-18 August 2016 at Melbourne Park Function Centre.

The ALC Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit is Australia’s leading supply chain safety event.

With the theme Chain of Responsibility is all about Safety, the Summit will feature policy discussions and seminars / workshops. The Summit is expected to attract more than 300 industry representatives from all parts of the supply chain, including customers, suppliers and logistics providers.

The Summit is integral to ALC’s commitment to raising awareness about Chain of Responsibility (CoR), which impacts on all parts of the supply chain, as well as advising industry participants on some practical steps they can take to ensure high levels of safety and compliance.

The Summit will consider how supply chains and networks can be champions of work health and safety by adopting practices which then influence other supply chain members’ perceptions, expectations and actions.

A key focus will be the significant extension to CoR that is to be considered by governments during 2016, which proposes extending the legal obligations and liabilities of executive officers / directors.

ALC was a leading advocate in the recent abolition of the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal, and the Summit will discuss how to implement meaningful reforms and drive safety outcomes in Australia’s supply chains.

The successful 2015 Summit brought together more than 300 industry representatives to benchmark, share best practice, and to identify gaps where improvements are needed.

Chain of Responsibility means all parties in a supply chain are required to implement positive actions to prevent breaches of the law. Companies cannot ‘contract out’ their CoR obligations, no matter what their industry sector or part of the supply chain.
